FACULTY-LED PROGRAM PROPOSAL
The Proposal Form must be completed before determining whether or not your proposal will be approved.
Faculty must follow all requirements related to the procedures described in the Faculty-Led Program Handbook Faculty must initially make an appointment with the Associate Provost for pre-approval pending satisfactory completion of requirements in the Faculty-Led Program Handbook.
NOTE: FACULTY ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ALLOW OTHERS TO ACCOMPANY THE GROUP. ONLY TWO FACULTY LEADERS AND STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE CLASS ARE ALLOWED TO GO ON THE TRIP. (spouses of faculty leaders may go at their own expense)
Once the Proposal has been approved then Faculty Leaders may recruit students. Leaders may use academic criteria for selecting students such as an essay, or GPA, etc. A minimum of 2 faculty are required to go on each program and participants are limited to 10-20 students

Please Check Travel Warnings and Alerts The State Department issues travel advisories for each country of the world. The new advisories are listed as levels 1-4 regarding safety. Information about conditions are listed that may pose risks to the safety of U.S. citizens. If the country you wish to take students to is at a level one or two, then the TTU group can travel. If the country is at a level 3, then the program will have to be reviewed closely by the Provost and the Center for Global Experiences before a decision can be made. Faculty who choose to propose a country with a level 3 advisory must also propose an alternate location for their program. Faculty may not, under any circumstances, take TTU students to a country with an advisory level of 4. Please search the status of the country before submitting a proposal.

- Must hold the rank of tenure-track faculty. Must be familiar with the location, culture and language abroad. Must complete all requirements for the Center for Global Experiences, arrange all details of the trip, and take responsibility for the group for the full duration of the program.

Must be able to teach and lead the class abroad in the absence of the Faculty-Leader. OTHER FACULTY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Faculty leaders must follow up with the departmental financial analyst and the Business Office to set up a Marketplace account so that students can pay for the trip online and are aware of the deadline dates.
2. Faculty leaders are required to meet with their group at least 3 times before departure and cover country-specific orientation topics (see Handbook).
3. Faculty leaders must ensure that all students review the orientation materials on the CGE website and complete the orientation assessment before departure.
4. Faculty leaders must register all participants in the group on the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) website: https://step.state.gov/step/
5. Faculty leaders must submit an out-of-country memo and get appropriate signatures from the President via the Provost, via the Dean, via the Chair/Director (please refer to sample on the CGE website)
